BOISE, Idaho — A Star man is in custody after police say he burglarized a home on Warm Springs Avenue in Boise Thursday night.

Boise Police received a call at 7:50 p.m. at a house in the 2600 block of Warm Springs.

Officers arrived and set up a perimeter around the large property before beginning to search it. Investigators found signs that someone had forced their way into the home, as well as property that was out of place, but were unable to find the burglar.

Hunting and recreational gear from the home had been loaded into the victim's SUV, ready to be taken, Boise Police said.

Officers learned that a gun was missing from the house, stoking concerns that the burglar was armed. Meridian Police and the Ada County Sheriff's Office were called in to help, with a large number of law enforcement converging on the house to help search with K9 teams.

After hours of searching the property and the surrounding area, officers found the suspect - identified as 40-year-old Michael N. Tamburrino of Star - hiding in the bushes at a nearby property.

Tamburrino had several items taken from the house with him when he was caught. The suspect was not carrying the  gun stolen from the  house, police say,  but officers later found it in another location

He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Ada County Jail on felony charges of grand theft, grand theft by possession and burglary.

The case remains under investigation, and anyone with more information about the break-in is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS.
