Boise State student uses senior project to help homeless

BOISE - A Boise State student is using her capstone project to give back to a vulnerable population - the homeless.

Senior Caitie Fredrickson took in donations, and filled a cabinet with non-perishable food items and toiletries. They'll go to anyone who may be in need.

"I hope they know that their neighbors care for them," she said. "I want it to be a community tool so that neighbors are aware that hunger happens in their own neighborhood, and hungry neighbors know that their neighbors don't want to see them go hungry."

The so-called "Little Free Pantry" is located at Wright Congregational Church on Franklin Road in Boise.

Inside the pantry is a list of items you can donate - like cereal, dried beans and powdered milk.

Caitie says she's just getting started. She's planning to put together two more little pantries.
