STAR -- The body of a 16-year-old Middleton boy was discovered in the Boise River Monday.
According to the Ada County Sheriff's Office, the teen was found in the water near Star Road. His body was recovered by Star Police and the ACSO Dive Team.
Investigators say the boy had disappeared in the water around 3 p.m. Sunday. His friends searched for him for several hours before calling for help.
The sheriff's office, along with fire departments from Boise, Star, and Eagle, searched the river until nightfall, then resumed Monday morning. The teen's body was ultimately found about 30 feet from the shore.
Authorities say the boy's body showed no signs of trauma, and he is believed to have drowned.
