NAMPA, Idaho — A Nampa man drowned in an above-ground pool at his house Sunday evening.
The drowning happened at 8:17 p.m. at a home on West Platte River Street, near the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and Middleton Road.
According to Nampa Police Capt. Curt Shankel, alcohol was a factor in the drowning. The 47-year-old victim was alone in the pool when it happened, Shankel said.
The man was found by a family member, who called for help, but the victim did not survive, police say.
The man's name has not been released.
