NAMPA — A woman from Nampa has died almost exactly 24 hours after she was injured when police say a pickup struck the car in which she was a passenger.

Nampa Police officers responded to the crash at about 11 a.m. Friday at the intersection of North Middleton Road and West Karcher Road. They determined that the driver of a Buick LeSabre traveling westbound on Karcher was attempting to make a left turn onto Middleton when a Ford F-150 heading east on Karcher proceeded through the intersection and struck the Buick.

Passengers from both vehicles were taken to hospitals for their injuries, but neither driver was transported.

The Ada County coroner said that at about 10:49 a.m. Saturday, 81-year-old Julia M. Pettit of Nampa died from injuries she suffered in the crash. Pettit was a passenger in the Buick.

Nampa Police continue to investigate, and once the case is complete, police will forward the department’s findings to the Canyon County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of charges.
