PARMA - Voters will head to the polls Tuesday to decide on school bonds and levies across the state.
Throughout the Treasure Valley school districts are asking for millions of dollars to cope with the escalating enrollment numbers and aging buildings.
The Parma School District said it needs the funding to upgrade existing buildings and campuses.
"The real impact isn't due to growth, it's due to being able to offer high quality programs to our students," said Parma School District Superintendent Jim Norton. "It's not about square footage, it's about educational progress."
Parma is asking voters to pass a $5 million bond. If passed, the money would be used to update lighting in the football stadium and replace the bleachers, and the middle school tennis courts. It also would expand the high school band room and construct a new agricultural education building and would include new equipment.

"In our community agriculture is the foundation to our economy here and education is key to having students come out that are trained and move into the work force," Norton said.
Other school districts in Canyon County also have similar requests.
The Caldwell School District is asking voters to pass a supplemental levy for $2.5 million per year for two years. That money would be used for maintaining and operating the schools.
Over in Middleton, the school district needs a new elementary school. So they want voters to pass a $25 million bond to build it.
The Wilder School District has a $5 million bond on the ballot. This would be for educational improvements including building and furnishing a new lunchroom and kitchen.
The West Ada Joint School District is asking for a bond and levy. The bond for $95 million and a supplemental levy for $14 million.
