PYEONGCHANG - Rigby native Jessika Jenson finally received some good fortune at the Olympics.
Competing on Sunday in the first-ever Olympic big air event, Jenson finished in 12th place in the qualifying round.
Considering the top 12 riders advance to the finals on Thursday, it means the 26-year-old secured the 12th and final qualifying spot.
Jenson recorded a score of 76.25 on her first run. At the time it put her in 7th place, but she would eventually slip to 12th.
After falling on her second run, Jenson watched as the last few riders tried to knock her out of the finals, but each of them came up short.
Four years ago in Sochi, then a first-time Olympian, Jenson missed out on qualifying for the finals of the women's slopestyle event by one spot.
Then, just one week ago, Jenson narrowly missed out on medaling in the women's slopestyle. Jenson had reserved a podium spot for most of the event, but she wound up finishing in fifth place.
Jenson has never medaled at the Olympics. She will get here final chance to do so on Wednesday. The big air finals get underway at 5:30 p.m. MT. You can watch it live on KTVB and streaming here.
