Idaho May 2024 Election Results
Decision 2024 kicks off with the Idaho May Primary, Gem State voters will head to the polls on Tuesday, May 21st to select winners in Congressional, legislative, and county primaries. In many communities there are also major bond and levy questions.
The Primary Election determines which candidates will represent the Constitution, Democratic, Libertarian and Republican parties in the general election in November. In some districts, only one party is represented, so the primary also will effectively determine who wins that office.
At the top of the ballot, both of Idaho's representatives to the U.S. House are up for election this year. Winners of the party primaries advance to the November General Election.
A major note in 2024, the entire Idaho Legislature is up for election, voters across the Gem State will select a brand new body.
County offices and dozens of funding proposals are also on the ballot for this month's primary.
To see candidates for a particular race, go to the chapter bar at the top of this story, scroll sideways to find the one you're interested in, and select that chapter link. Parties are listed in alphabetical order. Independent candidates do not appear on primary ballots, and are not listed here.
A major change this year comes after the Idaho Legislature changed election law in 2023 to remove the March election day for school districts.
In previous years, school districts had typically used March and August election days rather than the dates in May and November.
The 2024 Idaho Legislature voted to remove the August election date this past session as well.
