BOISE, Idaho — Tyson Degenhart had 24 points as Boise State bounced back from consecutive losses with a dominant 90-66 win over Fresno State on Saturday night.
The win puts the Broncos (17-8, 8-4 MWC) just a 0.5 game back of first place in the Mountain West standings behind Utah State (21-5, 9-4) and San Diego State (20-6, 9-4).
Degenhart added nine rebounds, an assist and a steal in the win. The all-conference junior set career highs with 12 made free throws and 14 attempts, and posted his fourth 20-point performance in Boise State's past seven contests.
O'Mar Stanley scored 17 points and shot 6 for 8 (75%) from the field. The 6-foot-8 forward also made 4 of 6 free throws and grabbed four rebounds. Degenhart, Stanley, Max Rice and Chibuzo Agbo combined for 66 points against the Bulldogs (11-15, 4-9).
Rice recorded 13 points, five rebounds and four assists, while Agbo posted 12 and three boards. Nine different Broncos scored Saturday at ExtraMile Arena, as Boise State led for 39:45 of 40 minutes and picked up its fifth straight win over Fresno State.
"When we have everyone shooting well it really builds the team's confidence, especially for our bench guys because they're as important as the starters," Degenhart said. "They played really good minutes tonight and it'll be important to have them playing like that in the future."
The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Isaiah Pope, who finished with 17 points. Isaiah Hill added 15 points and six assists for Fresno State. In addition, Xavier Dusell finished with 14 points.
Boise State welcomes San Jose State to the City of Trees at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday on Fox Sports 1. Fresno State hosts San Diego State on Feb. 24.
