Boise Film Fest bringing Hollywood Experience to Idaho’s Capital

The inaugural season kicks off October 10-13 in Downtown Boise

BOISE, Idaho — KTVB IS A SPONSOR OF BOISE FILM FEST

Film Festival kicks off its inaugural season October 10-13 in Downtown Boise. The festival will feature local filmmakers, first time feature directors, documentaries, movie shorts, director Q&A sessions, special screenings, and red-carpet events.

BFF will take place at two main locations including the Egyptian Theater and The Flicks

Boise Film Festival kicks off with an opening night VIP party at The Western from 9:00-11:00 pm and a closing night Gala at The Grove, hosted by NFL player and America’s Got Talent’s Jon Dorenbos.

The festival will also feature a special event called “Thursday Night Throwback,” held at the Egyptian Theatre, where a classic film will be screened and followed by a panel of special guests to kick off the festival each year.
This year’s “Throwback Thursday” film will be “Miracle,” which is the story of the 1980 USA Olympic Hockey team who defeated the rival Russians in an epic battle. 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the film.

The festival will also include an educational side on Saturday, October 12 in which CSI creator Anthony Zuiker will teach a masterclass on writing for television.

The Holders aim to make the Boise Film Festival an accessible and community-oriented event. “We really wanted to make sure that the community was involved and that they felt like they had meaningful participation,” Christine stated. “We want people to come here for something like a film festival and really see what we have to offer.”
