Yolanda Hadid has come a long way in the past few years.
On Saturday night, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star accepted the Mother of the Year honor at Daily Front Row's 3rd Annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards, and spoke exclusively to ET's Carly Steel about how she's coping with her Lyme disease and what it's like to be single again after calling it quits with David Foster in December 2015.
Yolanda -- who is the mother of models Gigi, Bella and Anwar Hadid -- was grateful to be at the event, something she may not have been able to attend when she was very ill. "I feel great today," she exclaimed. "I was just saying to my son [Anwar], it's a very different story than last year and the year before, coming to this event. ...I'm, let's say, 90 percent there."
"I'm still in treatment and living a very conscientious life. As you know, there is no cure for Lyme disease," the 53-year-old model added. "You know, I'm in remission and I'd like to stay there until I find a cure."
Yolanda, who looked gorgeous in a sporty all-black outfit and metallic heels, says that she's currently single, but not yet ready to mingle. "You know, I'm still a little shy," she admitted. "I'm getting ready, but not yet. I'm just enjoying life, being well. Being up and out and working again. Enjoying my children. You know, life is so full right now. It's all good."
While Yolanda has had lots of success in her life, motherhood, she says, is her greatest achievement. "Being a mom is the most amazing thing I've done in my life, and it is my greatest accomplishment," she told ET.
In addition to raising three models, Yolanda will also be heading up a reality show on Lifetime called Model Moms that will show "what it takes to start in this business."
"The foundation really starts at home," she explained. "It should really start when the children are born, you raise them, and then by the time they're 18 and come to this business, they should be strong in their shoes, and the mom plays a really big part in that."
