Idaho's Cowboy Ninja inspires healthy lifestyles when not battling on 'American Ninja Warrior'

The rancher from Salmon says his favorite part of being on the hit NBC show is inspiring kids to be healthy and active.

Idaho's very own Cowboy Ninja, Lance Pekus, returned for his eighth season of "American Ninja Warrior" on Monday night.

And he put on a show.

The Salmon, Idaho resident conquered the course inside the Tacoma Dome - including the "Mega Wall" - landing him in the national finals for a sixth time.

As one of the show's veterans, he says his favorite part of competing on the show is inspiring kids to be active and healthy.

"The kids are so into it, I love seeing the kids get excited and cheering and running around, running around on the playground, swinging around pretending they are me and other competitors, it's really cool to be an inspiration to the younger kids," Pekus told KTVB.

By making it to the finals on Monday night, Pekus won $2,500, and keeps his dreams of an "American Ninja Warrior" championship alive.
