The home on Gimlet Road in Ketchum was previously listed for $21.5 million, according to Zillow, making it the most expensive home for sale in the state. But Monday's auction does not have a minimum required bid and will go to the highest bidder, so it's anyone's guess how much the house will go for.
Located just five minutes from the world-famous Sun Valley Ski Resort, the 30,000 square foot home sits on 13 acres and is surrounded by BLM-managed land, meaning there will never be nosy neighbors.
"The home is located next to hundreds of acres of land, protected by the Bureau of Land Management," said Daniel DeCaro, CEO of DeCaro Luxury Auctions. "There's no telling when another opportunity to purchase a property as spectacular as this one will arise."
The abundant amenities include 11 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, an authentic pub that was imported piece-by-piece from Ireland, a salt water pool, a tennis court, several pillars that were excavated from a river in Egypt, and a walkway with stone imported from the Yangtze River Valley in China.
The estate is comprised of a main home with three attached buildings - the northern wing, the main wing and the entertainment wing - as well as an attached guest house and a traditional red barn. The home is open for prospective buyers to view this Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday's absolute auction will be held at the home at 11 a.m. Monday.
