Boise State Football releases fan color schemes for 2019 season home games

For the first time since the 2016 season, the Broncos will have a blackout game, so will Boise State get black uniforms again?

BOISE, Idaho — The Boise State Broncos unveiled the fan color schemes for their home games in 2019, with one surprise.

The Broncos' home opener is on Sept. 6 against the Marshal Thundering Herd. The color scheme for seating is tri-color, switching between blue, orange, and white.

Marshall went 9-4 last season, with a 38-20 win over the University of South Florida in the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl.

On Sept.14, the Broncos take on the Portland State Vikings. Fans will need to bring their orange gear with them for an orange out game.

The Vikings went 4-7 in 2018, finishing eighth in the Big Sky Conference of the FCS. 

In the first conference game at home, Boise State plays Air Force in the blackout game. It is the first time since 2016 that the Broncos have a blackout game, leaving the question of will Boise State bring back its black uniforms.

Air Force went 4-7 last season and lost to Boise State 48-38 at home.

For the first time since 2016, Hawai'i takes on Boise State on Oct. 12. The fan color scheme is blue and orange, so fans will need to double check which the section they're in before heading to the game.

The Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors went 8-6 last season, ending the season with a 31-14 loss to the Louisana Tech Bulldogs in the SoFi Hawai'i Bowl. Boise State beat the Warriors in their last matchup in 2016, 52-16.

On Nov. 9, the Broncos play the Wyoming Cowboys in a Mountain Divisional game. The game will be a blue out for fans.

The Cowboys went 6-6 last season and lost to Boise State 34-14 in Laramie, Wyo.

The last home game of the season will for the Broncos will be on Nov. 16 against the New Mexico Lobos. The fan color scheme will be wear anything, so need to worry about what colored gear to wear.

New Mexico went 3-9 and ended the 2018 season on a seven-game losing streak, which included a 45-14 loss to the Broncos.
