LAS VEGAS — The Boise State women's basketball team (26-4) beat Fresno State 89-77 to move on to the Mountain West Championship game Wednesday night.
The Broncos will play No. 3 seed Wyoming Wednesday at 8 p.m. The game will be aired on CBS Sports Network. Wyoming beat San Diego State 75-70 in overtime late Tuesday.
Boise State last lost to Wyoming on the road 52-64 on Jan. 26.
The game remained close at halftime with both teams tied at 36 apiece, but the Broncos were able to jump out to a 12-point lead in the third quarter, only to see it be cut to a two-point lead in the fourth.
In the final minutes of the game, the Broncos were able to create some separation on the scoreboard, leading them to their third straight tournament championship game appearance.
Senior guard Marta Hermida led the Broncos in points, assists, and rebounds, with 30, 8 and 10.
The Broncos shot 45 percent on field goals, 12-27 on three-point shots and were 83 percent on free throws. The bench racked up 18 points.
Braydey Hodgins had 17 points while shooting 50 percent from the field and 33 percent from three. She also tallied three rebounds.
Joyce Harrell also scored 11 points on 5 of 11 shooting. Riley Lupfer was the fourth Bronco to score double digits with 12 points on 4 of 11 from the field, including two three-pointers.
Fresno State shot 46 percent and had three players score double digit points, with guard Candice White leading with 28 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists.
On Monday, Boise State beat Nevada 72-67 in the quarterfinals after Hodgins set a Mountain West Tournament record with 37 points on 10 of 18 shooting while going 14 of 15 at the free throw line.
