NAMPA, Idaho — A Canyon County Sheriff’s deputy was involved in a crash in Nampa Wednesday night as a result of a high-speed pursuit.
The crash happened at the intersection of Marketplace and Midland boulevards. According to the Canyon County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the area of Locust Lane and South Midland Boulevard at about 8:50 p.m. to try to find a wanted man.
The suspect, 27-year-old Erik Ivan Enriques of Homedale, had outstanding warrants for domestic violence and other charges, officials say.
The sheriff's office said that Enriques drove away when deputies tried to make contact with him, sparking a pursuit.
Witnesses at the scene said a sheriff’s office vehicle came through the intersection chasing the car when it hit a black Toyota Tacoma pickup going through the same intersection at Marketplace and Midland.

The Tacoma sustained heavy damage to the driver's side door.
Photos and video from the scene show the driver of the pickup truck being loaded onto a gurney and the deputy with a bloody nose.
The pickup driver was taken by ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, according to Idaho State Police. His current condition is unknown.
Other deputies continued chasing Enriques, who ultimately got out of his car at Chinden Boulevard and Ten Mile Road and tried to run away, according to the sheriff's office. He surrendered to deputies a short time later and was taken into custody and booked into the Canyon County Jail.
In addition to the warrants, Enriques is also charged with felony eluding. The Canyon County Sheriff's Office said the suspect was previously involved in an escape attempt from the Canyon County Jail, during which a deputy was hurt.
Idaho State Police is handling the crash investigation.
