BOISE, Idaho — Nampa's premier dog festival returns! Join Nampa Parks & Recreation for the 16th Annual Pooch Party at Lakeview Park in Nampa on August 24th. Registration opens at 8:30 AM, followed by the walk at 9:30 AM. Gather your dogs and loved ones for a picturesque one-mile stroll around the park. Post-walk, the Lakeview Water Park gates will swing open for dogs to play in the pool. Enjoy contests, live entertainment, booths catering to pets, and a chance to win prizes.
Engage in the fun by registering your dog for one or all of the available contests. These contests feature categories such as Costume, Look-a-Like, Super Dog Tricks, and Canine Cake Walks.
Schedule of events:
- 8:30 AM: Registration and check-in
- 9:30 AM: Walk begins
- 10:00 AM: VIP Swim
- 10:45AM-12:45 PM: Canine Cake Walks
- 11:00 AM: Swimming pool opens
- 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Contests & vendor booths
- 1:00 PM: Pooch Party ends
Early registration is available until August 22 for only $25, which includes an adult t-shirt, a gift for your dog, and walk/swim admission for one dog. The fee for each additional dog is $10. Be sure to register early as the fee goes up to $30 starting August 20.
All funds raised by this event are in support of Nampa's Dog Parks - Amity and Huckleberry Dog Park.
Amity Dog Park in Nampa spans six acres and boasts excellent facilities, including a fully enclosed area with vast grassy area, walking paths, water access for both dogs and humans, shaded areas, trees, seating, a dog swimming pond, and plenty of parking.
Huckleberry Dog Park, Nampa's second canine park, is situated near Smith Avenue and Middleton Road. It offers a dedicated space for small or older dogs, walking paths, spacious grassy fields, and a misting station to cool the dogs during the warm summer season.
To contribute to Nampa's dog parks, donations of any size can be made online or in person at the Program Desk of the Nampa Recreation Center.
Registrations can also be mailed, dropped off at Harward Recreation Center Program Desk, or in person on race day.
Fees: Early registration is $25 for the first dog and $10 for each additional dog. The registration fee includes an adult t-shirt, a doggie gift, and walk and swim admission for one dog. Additional dog registrations do not include a t-shirt. After August 20th, the fee increases to $30.
