WEISER - The Bureau of Land Management is investigating a grass fire that broke out east of Weiser on Friday.
The River Fire was estimated at 600-700 acres and was three miles east of Weiser off River Road, the BLM said.
It was reported at around 4 p.m.
Several agencies responded to help BLM crews, including the Weiser Rural Fire Department, Midvale Rural Fire Department, Payette National Forest crews and Idaho Falls BLM.
As of late Friday, there were no structures threatened.
The BLM said that earlier, the fire was moving toward Weiser. But crews got to the west side of the fire and got it handled.
The fire was estimated to be contained at 11 p.m.
