BOISE, Idaho — A federal judge sentenced four people from southern Idaho to prison for trafficking large amounts of fentanyl and methamphetamine. The U.S. Attorney's Office said in a Monday news release that a drug sting led to the arrests.
“These prosecutions reflect that the people of Idaho will not tolerate drug traffickers bringing their poisons into our communities,” said U.S. Attorney Hurwit. “The backbone of our counter-drugs program is the partnership at the federal, state, and local level, and this holds true in the Magic Valley, where our teamwork is making a difference.”
Jamie Lee Coltrin, 35, from Rupert, Jenika Ann Johnson, 30, and Tina Jane Morris, 45, both from Pocatello, and Daniel Ross Coltrin, 39, from Paul, were all sentenced to federal prison for distributing drugs.
The news release stated that Jamie Lee Coltrin sold an undercover cop 1,000 fentanyl pills for $4,500. Johnson also sold an uncovered cop 1,000 fentanyl pills for $4,000. Detectives saw Morris do a drug deal, pulled them over and after a search, found 11,216 fentanyl pills, two pounds of meth and a handgun.
The office said Daniel Ross Coltrin was on his way to a drug deal when police pulled him over. He was found carrying $5,600 that police said he was using to buy 1,250 fentanyl pills.
Morris was sentenced to serve 97 months, Jamie will serve 48 months, Johnson 48 months and Daniel 25 months.
