Ammon man arrested, 2 hospitalized after crash in Walmart parking lot

Officials said Kade Mitchell Blackburn intentionally collided with another vehicle Sunday in a Walmart parking lot. Two people were hospitalized after the crash.

BOISE, Idaho — An Ammon man is facing multiple felony charges after intentionally crashing into another vehicle on Sunday in a Walmart parking lot, according to the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office.

Officials said 30-year-old Kade Mitchell Blackburn collided with a parked Chevrolet Tahoe while driving a Ford Edge. Witnesses gave dispatch a description of the suspect, who reportedly ran from the parking lot after the crash.

Bonneville County deputies arrived at the scene and found three people inside the Chevrolet Tahoe. The sheriff's office said the woman in the driver's seat and a juvenile passenger were taken to an area hospital by ambulance with "significant injuries." Another man was treated at the scene and released.

Monday's news release said Blackburn had been calling the woman while she was in the store with the two passengers. As they were getting in the vehicle, Blackburn accelerated toward them in the Ford Edge and hit the Tahoe on the passenger side, the sheriff's office said. The Tahoe then hit a third parked vehicle.

Deputies learned Blackburn got out of the Ford and "yelled obscenities" at the people inside the Tahoe, before running from the scene.

The Bonneville County Sheriff's Office said Blackburn was located near the Walmart and taken into custody. He was booked into the Bonneville County Jail after medical clearance at a local hospital.

Blackburn is facing two counts of aggravated battery, malicious injury to property and leaving the scene of an injury crash. Officials said the victims are expected to recover from their injuries in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office.
