BOISE, Idaho — Garden City Police Department (GCPD) announced officers arrested a suspect Tuesday allegedly involved in an armed carjacking.
On June 25, at roughly 9 a.m., Garden City police were alerted to an incident taking place near the 6800 block of Strawberry Glenn Road. Upon arrival, police said they discovered a male suspect attempting assault with a deadly weapon.
According to GCPD, the suspect, later identified as Edward Quintana, approached a woman in a parking lot, showed a handgun and demanded her car. He then took the vehicle and drove off, driving west through the parking lot.
Once officials were on the scene, they were able to identify the license plate numbers for the stolen vehicle. At that point, Ada County Dispatch broadcast the car description and plates to all law enforcement in Ada County, said Garden City police.
A deputy in Eagle was able to locate the car, traveling down Old State Street in Eagle. There was a short pursuit, before the deputy successfully performed a P.I.T. maneuver, disabling the vehicle.
Quintana was taken into custody without incident, said police. He was arrested on robbery, grand theft and felon in possession of a firearm charges.
Garden City Police Department wanted to thank the quick work of Ada County Dispatch, as their work led to a quick arrest.
