BOISE -- The owner of a Boise Bench flower shop is missing out on a peak income season because of an arson fire that remains unsolved.

It's been roughly one month since the owner of Flower Aroma, Kelly Wall, woke up to a disturbing phone call from police.

"I had just gotten up and came down to the flower shop and just all the fire detectives were here, the police department brought me in through the doors," she remembers. "You know it's hard to see your business like that. You don't expect it."

Boise police continue to seek the person responsible for the March 21 arson at the business at the intersection of Orchard Street and Franklin Road. While that happens; Wall waits for the rebuild.

On Friday, she showed KTVB how the inside of the shop has changed. It looks much barer.

"That's gone, all of our shelving is gone," she said pointing to a section of the store.

The charred interior walls and ceiling have been removed and the flower shop is gutted, yet still it smells of smoke.

"Now it's just an empty building," said Wall. "So it makes me see, we have a lot to rebuild."

According to the Boise Fire Department, arson cases are a pretty consistent occurrence.

Investigators work about two cases each month on average.

"Of the fires Boise Fire investigates, about 20 per year, are ruled as arson. At this year's current rate, we are likely to meet the same average," said Deputy Fire Chief Romeo Gervais.

Wall's flower shop is one of those, and so is a fire from back in February, when a Foothills Drive home was severely damaged by a fire that police said was started purposely.

That family lost items with sentimental value, and Wall said she is losing out on one of the busiest seasons for a flower shop.

"Mother's Day is a big holiday," she said. "Flower shops are usually able to put money back and use it throughout the year, and we aren't going to be able to do that. So that is scary."

She hopes her customers will come back once the remodel is complete.

"I am nervous about the flower shop being out of commission for three to four months," she said.

But Wall is looking to the future now, and she plans to incorporate a second business inside Flower Aroma where she sells gourmet cookies.

"We are going to come back hopefully bigger and stronger. We are not going to let something like this take us down."

Wall predicts that the construction will take three to four months.

Meanwhile, police are still investigating the arson.
