Boise Police: Traveling crime group arrested after stealing $20,000 in merchandise

Police said the four suspects stole roughly $4,700 in merchandise from a Boise store as part of a multi-state theft spree in the region.

BOISE, Idaho — The Boise Police Department arrested a group of suspects allegedly traveling the West Coast stealing merchandise from stores.

Police in a news release Wednesday said four suspects were arrested after stealing roughly $4,700 of makeup and cosmetics from a Boise store. The suspects are facing multiple felony charges of burglary and grand theft.

Boise Police Organized Retail Crime Unit Cpl. Marshall Plaisted said the group has committed "multiple thefts surpassing $20,000" while traveling through multiple states in recent weeks.

BPD said around 1 p.m. Tuesday, it started investigating a reported theft at a store around 500 North Milwaukee Street in Boise. Police suspected the group would try to steal from the same business's location near 2300 North Eagle Road in Meridian, so they proceeded there.

The department said employees at the Meridian store knew about the group and called police when they arrived. The group did not steal from the second location.

Officials said that around 1:30 p.m., Boise and Meridian police began searching the nearby area for the suspects. The group was found in a nearby parking lot, and they fled from police in different directions.

The group was later found and arrested. Police said the four suspects were booked into the Ada County Jail for their listed charges.

The department provided a list of the arrested suspects and their charges:
