BOISE, Idaho — Police arrested a man who is the owner of the La Garnacha Que Apapacha restaurant in Boise after they charged him with lewd conduct with a minor.
On Friday, the Boise Police Department (BPD) told KTVB they arrested Jose Sanchez Vazquez, 37, after they found evidence he was having lewd conduct with a minor for several months in 2023.
On Wednesday, Vazquez was taken into custody without further incident near 7700 W. Overland Road.
During a video arraignment on Thursday, the prosecution stated the victim is 16 years old and 28 weeks pregnant. They said she went to the Nampa Family Justice Center for resources, where it was revealed she was pregnant and who she claims the father is.
The prosecution stated the victim worked for Vazquez at the restaurant.
Vazquez admitted to having sexual relations with the victim in various places, including at work, during the arraignment, and receiving naked pictures of the victim.
He claimed that he doubted the victim was over 19 years old, but continued the relationship anyway, the prosecution stated.
The prosecution also alleged the victim had asked Vazquez to support the child, which he denied. But, he placed them on the restaurant's payroll even though she no longer worked there.
Vazquez's bail is $200,000, and his preliminary hearing is on April 18.
