BOISE, Idaho — A local store owner has been arrested on multiple drug-related charges following months of investigation, the Boise Police Department said Thursday.
In March 2024, Boise Police said its Alcohol Compliance Officer began investigating a business located at 1265 S Capitol Blvd for selling alcohol to minors. Police said while investigating, the officer found illegal drug paraphernalia being sold in the store. At the time, police warned the store's owner multiple times about the laws for selling alcohol and drug paraphernalia.
After multiple attempts to bring the business into compliance with state law, Boise Police officers served a search warrant to the business on Thursday, Nov. 7 and arrested the owner, Paramjit Singh, a 49-year-old man from Chico, California.
"Evidence shows the business was selling a large number of items related to altering, concealing, ingesting, and packaging illegal drugs and that they were targeting college students and high school age students in our community," said Boise Police BSU Lieutenant Chris Davis. "This investigation underscores the Boise Police Department's commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community, particularly our youth, and we will continue to hold businesses accountable that contribute to the illegal sale and distribution of harmful substances."
