Bond set for students accused in Payette arson case

The bonds for the four Payette students accused of setting a Payette principal's house on fire have been set at $200,000

The Payette High School principal's home was badly damaged by flames.

PAYETTE -- The four students believed to be involved in setting a Payette principal's house on fire are now in custody.

Payette Police Chief Mark Clark tells KTVB two of the students are 14-years-old, one is a 15-years-old, and the other is 16-years-old.

Clark says one of the 14-year-olds and the 16-year-old are facing first-degree arson charges, as well as conspiracy to commit arson. Clark tells KTVB the 16-year-old also has a pending charge of delivery of a controlled substance from the week prior.

The other 14-year-old and the 15-year-old are being charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree arson.

All four students are being charged as adults. Their bonds have been set at $200,000.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 14.

The names of the students have not yet been released.
