BOISE, Idaho — A man who police suspect is involved in a June shooting at a Boise home was arrested Thursday by the Boise Police Department (BPD).
In a news release from BPD, officers arrested 20-year-old Johnny Bennett of Boise in connection to the June 19 shooting, where the suspect allegedly fired multiple gunshots into a home on South Oregon Trail Way.
Police said that before the shooting, Bennett stole a gun from a vehicle on the 3000 block of Anemone Court and fired rounds from the stolen gun into a field on Amity Road. He then drove to the 4000 block of South Oregon Trail Way and fired multiple shots into a house, according to BPD.
As KTVB previously reported, police said responding officers discovered that the outside of the home was hit multiple times, with "some" rounds entering the residence. Although people were inside the house at the time of the incident, no one was injured.
After an investigation, police said they learned the homeowners did not know Bennett.
The Ada County Prosecutor's Office approved a warrant for Bennett's arrest.
Bennett was booked into Ada County Jail and is facing following three felony charges:
- Theft-Grand (F)
- Burglary (F)
- Weapon- Unlawful Discharge at a House (F)
