BOISE, Idaho — A Boise man was arrested on Thursday in connection to a road rage that ended with shots being fired on West Overland Road.
The Boise Police Department on Friday announced 26-year-old Giovanni Becerra was arrested on four felony charges, including eight counts of sexual exploitation of a child, after being identified as the suspect in the road rage incident.
BPD said around 4:50 p.m., officers responded to the West Overland Road for a shots fire call. When officers arrived, they didn't find any victims but found bullet casings.
Police then reviewed nearby surveillance video and identified a suspect vehicle and a victim's vehicle. BPD said the suspect vehicle was found near the shooting, but nobody was inside.
Later, officers found the victim's vehicle at a Boise home, and they spoke to three men. Police said none of the men were injured, and the vehicle wasn't damaged.
BPD stated with the help of eyewitnesses, Becerra was identified as a suspect, and officers interviewed him. They found there had been a road rage situation between the men and Becerra before the shots were fired.
The department said during their investigation, detectives found Becerra was in procession of a stolen vehicle and child pornography. Also, he gave officers a fake name and tried to hide the gun allegedly used in the incident.
Officers said he was arrested and taken to the Ada County Jail.
Nobody was injured in the shooting.
