BOISE, Idaho — Detectives with the Caldwell Police Department are searching for a maroon pickup truck after a shooting during an apparent road rage incident.
Police on Thursday said the victims reported shots toward their vehicle from the truck during the incident, which occurred on Interstate 84 near milepost 25 at roughly 8 p.m. Tuesday. The rounds caused damage to the vehicle.
The victims were able to drive away after the shooting and nobody was hit by the gunshots, according to Caldwell Police. There is currently no description of the suspect, but the vehicle is described as a maroon Chevy or GMC pickup truck with a matching camper shell.
Police added the maroon-colored truck has an Idaho wildlife license plate with a picture of an elk, with a partial plate number of OUV or 0UV.
Anyone with information on the incident, or if a truck with a similar description is seen, call non-emergency dispatch at 208-454-7531 or 208-343-COPS. Do not approach a suspect or a suspect's vehicle.
The road rage report is under investigation by the Caldwell Police Department. Officials encourage calling 911 if a road rage scenario presents danger to you or others.
