BOISE -- A Boise man is facing a felony charge after police say he abused an elderly woman he was caring for.
Mark Stephen Wicklund, 61, was arrested Sunday morning. Police launched an investigation after the woman sought medical treatment for her injuries.
Investigators say the woman's injuries had been inflicted over the past several weeks. Police say evidence linked Wicklund, the woman's caretaker, to the abuse.
Wicklund is a registered sex offender who was convicted of sexually abusing a minor in 2001. He now faces a felony charge of abuse of a vulnerable adult.
If convicted, he will face up to ten years in prison. Wicklund is currently held in the Ada County Jail on a $100,000 bond, and is set to appear in court March 30.
