BOISE, Idaho — An Eagle teenager accused of being a serial rapist admitted to two felonies this week as part of an agreement with prosecutors to drop several other charges.

Cory Ryan Campbell, 17, pleaded guilty Tuesday to two counts of battery with intent to commit rape.

Prosecutors previously said he sexually assaulted five different teenage girls between September 2018 and March 2019, with some of the rapes coming just days apart. All of the girls knew Campbell, investigators said, and the sexual assaults were not random.

A warrant was issued for Campbell's arrest May 30 after an investigation by Ada County Sheriff's Office detectives. Although he is under the age of 18, he was charged as an adult in the case.

As part of the plea deal, prosecutors dropped three counts of rape and one count of penetration with a foreign object.

Prosecutor John Dinger said the four girls in the cases that were dismissed "will still be treated as victims in all regards," with the opportunity to speak at Campbell's sentencing and be eligible for restitution.

Battery with intent to commit rape carries a punishment of up to 20 years in prison. Campbell could also be ordered to register as a sex offender for life.

Sentencing in the case is set for Feb. 7.
