BOISE, Idaho — On Feb. 11 2007, Jaramy Burt left the Boise home he shared with his father to visit a friend, he never showed up and is still missing 17 years later. In a recent social media post, The Boise Police Department (BPD) said detectives still think someone knows about his disappearance and could provide a clue that could help solve this cold case.
"BPD detectives continue to stay in touch with Jeramy Burt’s mom 17 years after he went missing. We still think someone out there knows something about his disappearance and we continue to ask them to call police," BPD stated.
Burt was in the Navy and served in the Gulf War, he had a daughter and was rekindling his relationship with his ex wife when he went missing. The night of his disappearance he had sent a text to his ex wife, Kim George, stating he was not coming back. Police said that his tone and style of texting seemed foreign from the way he usually communicated.
Various family members told police how much he loved his daughter Mckenzie, and how he would never leave her. She was three at the time, she is now an adult.
A car of George's was also found missing. The car was found three months after his disappearance, it had been set on fire and abandoned in a remote area about 100 miles away from Boise. Police also found some charges on a credit card, and then nothing.
In 2016, George died from an apparent suicide. Burt would be 50 years old today.
The BPD urges anyone with information to contact Boise Police Detectives, call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS or leave a web tip at 343COPS.Com.
