POCATELLO, Idaho — A Pocatello man has been sentenced to 140 months in federal prison for possessing child pornography, according to the United States Attorney's Office, District of Idaho. 35-year-old Joshua Christopher Tompkins will also have fifteen years of supervised probation after completing his time in prison.
The department said that in July a task force found IP addresses and an electronic device belonging to Tompkins that had "thousands of images of child pornography." In December of 2022 detectives got a search warrant and seized more electronic devices with images downloaded from the internet.
"U.S. Attorney Hurwit commended the investigation by the Idaho ICAC Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations in Idaho Falls, the Idaho Falls Police Department, and the Pocatello Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Paskett prosecuted this case," a news release stated.
