Police make arrest in deadly shooting in Donnelly

The Valley County Sheriff's Office said 48-year-old Chuckaya Joseph Mount of Donnelly was arrested Monday in connection to a deadly shooting on Loomis Lane.

DONNELLY, Idaho — A 48-year-old man was arrested Monday in connection to a deadly shooting at a home on Loomis Lane in Donnelly, according to the Valley County Sheriff's Office

The sheriff's office on Tuesday said Chuckaya Joseph Mount of Donnelly was taken into custody and booked into jail following the shooting. He is facing murder charges and will be arraigned at 1 p.m. Tuesday inside the Valley County Courthouse.

A 65-year-old man also from Donnelly died at the scene of the shooting, officials said in a news release. He has not yet been identified, pending notification of his family.

Valley County Sheriff Kevin Copperi on Monday said deputies responded to a report of shots fired around 1 p.m. at a house outside of city limits, where a man with a gunshot wound was located. The sheriff's office is lead investigating agency in the shooting.
