NAMPA, Idaho — In the early morning hours of Nov. 14, Nampa Police officers were dispatched to a call about a domestic disturbance. A man armed with knives was outside when police arrived, then he went inside a house with several other people inside.
After receiving a dispatch call around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, officers with the Nampa Police Department (NPD) went to a residence on the 4200 block of E. Jasmin Ct. Upon arrival, officers witnessed an adult man quickly go inside where there were several victims.
Once the suspect was inside – still armed with knives, per Nampa Police – an officer fired their weapon, hitting the suspect.
Police said officers were then able to get the victims out of the house and give aid to the suspect until an ambulance was able to transport him. He was taken to a local hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injury, NPD said.
No officers or victims were injured Thursday, according to Nampa Police. Some victims did suffer injuries sustained before police arrived on scene. At this time, it is believed their injuries are non-life-threatening, a news release said.
The incident is under investigation by the Critical Incident Task Force, or CITF, which is compromised of agencies from Canyon and Owyhee counties and Idaho State Police. Idaho State Police is the lead investigative agency, per Thursday's news release.
