High-speed chase ends in arrest

Police said he sped through city streets, turned off his lights and tried to run before being arrested.

CALDWELL, Idaho — A man has been arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase. The Caldwell Police Department (CPD) said that 29-year-old Wyatt Tripp was driving a white Chevrolet Camaro with illegal tint when they tried to make a stop next to Illinois Avenue and Beech Street on Nov. 1 around 8:00 p.m.

Police said instead of stopping, Tripp accelerated, drove through city streets at a high-speed and turned off his car lights. This caused another driver to hit the car.

"After Tripp's collision, he exited the Camaro and fled on foot into a nearby yard, where he was quickly apprehended by Caldwell Police officers near Spruce Street and Illinois Avenue," CPD stated.

Tripp was on parole for eluding law enforcement and grand theft. The driver of the other car had a minor injury but did not go to the hospital.
