Man arrested in Meridian after pursuit, crash

Police said 25-year-old Timothy Kinchen was found nodding off with drugs in his car, he tried to flee, crashing into another car.

MERIDIAN, Idaho — A man has been arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail for allegedly trying to flee when police found him nodding off in his car, with illegal drugs visible. The Meridian Police Department (MPD), said 25-year-old Timothy Kinchen accelerated to 90 miles an hour during the pursuit, eventually hitting another car.

Police said the incident happened on July 20 around 11 a.m., at the intersection of Ten Mile and Franklin. They were responding to a wellness call and when they arrived found Kinchen nodding off. Police said he took off, driving east on Franklin to Locust Grove and tried to turn east on Pine when he hit another car.

MPD then arrested him. He's been charged with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, resisting and obstruction, felony evading and eluding and felony possession. Kinchen also had  two warrants out for his arrest for $50,000 and $300.
