MERIDIAN, Idaho — A man from Meridian has been arrested and charged with felony driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in injury after he hit a motorcyclist and drove away on June 29 around 11:30 p.m. Two people are in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to the Meridian Police Department (MPD), 26-year-old Michael Green was driving a Ford F-150 when he suddenly changed lanes at the intersection of E. Fairview Ave and Venture Street and hit a motorcyclist driving a black Honda. The motorcyclist was ejected onto Fairview and Green speeded away.
Then, another person got out of their car to help the motorcyclist. Both of them were then hit by another car. They were both taken to the hospital.
Police then found Green at W. Summerwind Dr. and W. Shadybrook in Boise. Officers conducted roadside tests, determined he was under the influence and arrested him.
"Meridian Police Department would like to thank the citizens who stopped to help the injured motorcyclist and the injured Good Samaritan, the Garden City Police, Meridian Fire Department, and Ada County Paramedics for their assistance," a news release stated.
There is a GoFundMe for the man who got out of the car to assist the motorcyclist. For more information, visit the GoFundMe here.
