BOISE, Idaho — A Nampa man was convicted of killing his mother's alleged killer, which happened back in late March of 2023 in Nampa.
A Tuesday news release from the Ada County Prosecutor states 32-year-old Raul Cuevas was convicted by a jury of second-degree murder in the killing of 39-year-old Jesus Urrutia.
As KTVB previously reported, Urrutia was a suspect in the murder of 52-year-old Michelle Luna, who is Cuevas' mother. Following the incident, Urrutia was found stabbed in a car at a gas station by Nampa Police, taken to a local hospital, and later declared dead.
Ada County deputies said Cuevas was identified as the suspect in Urrutia's death.
According to officials, after Tuesday's conviction, Cuevas remains out on bond.
Cuevas' sentencing is scheduled for July 23 at 10:30 a.m.
