NAMPA, Idaho — A Nampa man was arrested on Wednesday for burglary charges stemming from a break in late September.
The Nampa Police Department said at 7 a.m., officers arrested 34-year-old Michael E. Borchert on a search warrant at a Nampa home near East Sherman Avenue and Fern Street. He was taken in without incident.
Police said the search warrant was obtained after an investigation identified Borchert as the suspect in two home burglaries in Nampa.
On Sept. 21, Nampa Police sent a call out to the public for anyone with information about the break-in. Police on Wednesday said the information people sent in led detectives to the home.
“If the community had not engaged with the Nampa Police Department when we asked for help identifying the suspect, Mr. Borchert would not be held accountable for his crimes,” Detective Corporal Joel Woodward said in a news release. “Working together to help make our community safer is something we appreciate. The teamwork we receive from our community is admirable.”
Police said they found and recovered the stolen property from the home.
Borchert is charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of grand theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
The Canyon County Jail's website shows Borchert is in their custody.
