Police arrest, charge 15-year-old boy in Meridian stabbing incident

Ada County Sheriff's Office said the victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, is also a minor.

MERIDIAN, Idaho — A 15-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with a stabbing in Meridian. According to the Ada County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) the victim is also a minor and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The sheriff's office stated that around 6 p.m. on Nov. 14, the Meridian Police went to the 1800 Block of W. Waltman St. after a report of a stabbing. 

ACSO stated the suspect ran away and the victim had "multiple stab wounds." Law enforcement said the young suspect was found at his home and he was arrested, booked into the Ada County Juvenile Detention Center and charged with aggravated battery.

Although the Meridian Police Department was first on the scene, ACSO gave the following statement:

Following further investigation, it was determined that the stabbing occurred in unincorporated Meridian (county jurisdiction). Ada County Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to the scene and have since assumed responsibility for the investigation.
