Police arrest two people for stabbing, convenience store robbery

Boise police say the suspects robbed the Stinker Store on 13th St., and were later involved in a stabbing at another location.

BOISE, Idaho — Two people have been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and battery after stabbing someone during a fight. The two are also suspects in a convenience store robbery that happened earlier the same day, a fourth suspect from the robbery that had a gun is not in custody and police said they are investigating.

According to the Boise Police Department (BPD), the robbery happened on Aug. 24 around 11:30 p.m., at the Stinker Store located on 13th St. in Boise. People reported that two suspects had stolen alcohol and walked out, when two people tried to stop them, a fight started and a third person came out of a car and brandished a gun. Police said the three then ran away. 

Later that night, at 2:15 a.m., police said they received calls about a man and woman fighting at an apartment complex on the 2400 block of W. Fairview. Witnesses told police that two people interjected into the fight the woman and man were having, got knives from an apartment and stabbed the man. 

The victim did not know his assailants and was taken to the hospital. 

Around 4:30 a.m., police found two suspects matching the descriptions at the Fairview apartment complex and detained them. Police said after investigation, they ascertained the two were also allegedly responsible for the robbery. 

BPD arrested Abdullahji Kasim, 18 from Nampa, and charged him with aggravated assault and aggravated battery, and Mberwa Sadik, 18 from Boise, charged with two counts of aggravated assault, and aggravated battery.

Additional burglary charges are pending, and police said the investigation is ongoing.
