Police: Garden City man violates no-contact order, pours gasoline on home and himself

Someone was inside the home when the Garden City man began pouring gasoline over himself and the house.

GARDEN CITY, Idaho — A Garden City man was arrested after police say he violated a no-contact order and poured gasoline on a house and himself.

Garden City Police responded to a call on the 500 block of East 44th Street at about 7:10 p.m. Saturday regarding a no-contact order violation. According to police, officers found Marcell Gurule, 46, hiding in the yard once they arrived at the home.

On their way to the scene, they were told that Gurule was pouring gasoline over himself and the home. Someone was inside the house at the time.

The Boise Fire Department came to the scene to decontaminate Gurule.

Gurule was arrested by Garden City Police on a felony charge of attempted first-degree arson and misdemeanor violation of a no-contact order.
