Man leads police on high-speed chase across state lines, charged with multiple felonies

Police said Michael Bullard ran from police, and during the chase, he pointed a gun at officers and drivers. The gun was later found to be an airsoft pistol.

BOISE, Idaho — Police arrested a man after he led officers on a multi-state high-speed chase and pointed a gun at them and drivers.

The Payette Police Department (PPD) said on social media that Michael Bullard, previously from Payette, was charged and arrested for multiple felonies after damaging a Payette resident's home and running from police.

According to police, on Tuesday around 7:15 p.m., officers went to a home on the 2000 block of 1st Avenue S. after they got a call about a man threatening people at a Payette home.

When police made it to the home, nobody was there, and they began to search the area for a 2015 GMC pickup. Police said he was found speeding on Highway 95 headed south and did not stop for officers.

PPD said the Bullard drove into Fruitland and headed west into Ontario, and Idaho police stopped their chase. Oregon police then chased him, and he fled back into Idaho, drove past Payette officers, and pointed a gun at them.

Payette police said Bullard was speeding and headed toward Boise, and during that time, he was pointing a gun at police and other drivers. ISP placed Spikes on the road near milepost 21 on I-84, but Bullard stopped running. He stopped near exit 13 and was arrested by police.

The gun was found to be a replica Colt airsoft gun, police said.

Bullard was arraigned in Payette County Court on Wednesday and is being held on a $150,000 bond. He is charged with felony eluding police, two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and malicious injury to properly.
