MERIDIAN -- Police are investigating after 65-year-old Joy L.Frizzell was killed in her bed in an apparent murder-suicide.
Officers were called out to the woman's Meridian home in the 1200 block of Italy Street to check on her at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Investigators say they had been contacted earlier by the Gem County Sheriff's Office, which was investigating the death 71-year-old David Jacobs. After receiving information from the dead man's family, deputies asked Meridian Police to perform a welfare check on Jacob's girlfriend.
Officers forced their way into the Frizzell 's home and found her dead in her bed. The Ada County Coroner's Office says she died as a result of multiple stab wounds to the chest.
Meridian Police is investigating this case as a homicide. Detectives believe that Frizzell was killed late in the evening on Nov. 26 or early the next morning.
Jacob's was found dead in his Gem County trailer in Tuesday afternoon. Police say they have found evidence suggesting his death was a suicide. Toxicology results are still pending.
