Police investigating shooting near Spokane community college, university on lockdown

SPD said they received multiple reports of gunshots during a fight in a parking lot near North Holy Names Court and West Whistalks Way.

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened near Spokane Falls Community College Friday afternoon.

SPD said they received multiple reports of gunshots during a fight in a parking lot near North Holy Names Court and West Whistalks Way.

SPD says they do not know how many people were involved in the fight or if there is a victim at this time. SPD also said that they say suspects may have fled to a nearby wooded area and they are looking for them.

Spokane Falls Community College's campus is on lockdown as a precaution, and it will stay that way until police say it's safe, according to SPD. SFCC said staff and faculty can leave campus, and campus security is helping with that procedure.
