ONTARIO, Ore. — A Nampa man accused of stabbing his wife multiple times at an Ontario hospital Friday morning appeared in a Malheur County courtroom Monday afternoon.

Deputy District Attorney Michael Heninger told KTVB that Ramiro Garcia, 28, is charged with four crimes.

The mischief charge stems from damage to a glass door at the hospital.

Garcia's total bond was set at $145,000 for all of the charges.

Ontario Police officers were called to the emergency room of Saint Alphonsus Medical Center at 12:38 a.m. Friday after receiving reports of a woman being stabbed.

Paulina Patricia Garcia Sierra, 28, suffered life-threatening injuries and was provided immediate medical care. She was later flown to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise for further treatment.

Ramiro Garcia was brought to the hospital by family members because he was "freaking out," according to police.

The Ontario Police Department said the victim's condition is now stable, and she's recovering from her injuries.

The suspect was identified as Ramiro Garcia who was later taken into police custody when police located him on the 300 block SW 4th Avenue in Ontario.

Heninger says this case will be presented to a grand jury this week. Garcia will appear for another arraignment on the new indictment on Friday, Nov. 22.

Anyone with information about the stabbing is urged to call the Ontario Police Department at 541-473-5125.
