GARDEN CITY, Idaho — Garden City police arrested and charged Christopher Nava of Boise on Thursday after he forced entry and stole money from two restaurants within the span of three days.
Police said that a photograph of the suspect posted on the department's social media webpages led to a tip about the identity of the man.
The Garden City Police Department (GCPD) said they received a burglary report at a business located in the 4100 block on Chinden on Oct. 30 - stating the suspect stole an "undisclosed amount of cash."
On Nov. 2 at 4:10 a.m., GCPD were dispatched to a burglar alarm at a separate restaurant, this one located in the 3900 block of Chinden. Police said, again, the suspect forced entry and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.
GCPD said they posted the suspect's photo on Monday following the first burglary incident. After following up on the tip, police identified the suspect as Nava and arrested him Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at an address on Sawyer Avenue in Garden City.
Nava was charged with the following five felony crimes:
- Two counts of burglary felony
- Two counts of malicious injury to property felony
- One count of possession of a controlled substance felony
