NPD: Two arrested following road rage incident, shots fired

The Nampa Police Department said dispatch received reports of the two drivers intentionally crashing into each other and shots being fired.

NAMPA, Idaho — Two men were arrested following an alleged road rage incident that led to shots fired in Nampa on Tuesday.

The Nampa Police Department said dispatch received multiple calls around 11 a.m. about a road rage incident on Midland Boulevard between Roosevelt and Lake Lowell Avenue. Callers told police two vehicles were "intentionally crashing into each other and that shots were fired."

Police said officers arrived at the area of the reports and located the two suspects and their vehicles. 59-year-old Darin Gusters of Nampa and 52-year-old Bruce Richard Hackney of Grangeville were taken into custody without further incident. 

"Through the investigation, it was determined that both drivers deliberately ran their vehicles into the other, and that Gusters fired a handgun at Hackney. No one was struck by gunfire and there were no injuries caused by the suspects crashing into each other," police said in a news release. 

Gusters was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and firing a firearm in city limits, Nampa Police said. Hackney was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and possession of a controlled substance.
