Driver identified after deadly rollover crash on I-84 east of Boise

The crash was reported around 3:50 a.m. near milepost 69. Police say both westbound lanes of I-84 were blocked for about four hours.

BOISE — A Boise man was killed Tuesday morning in a rollover crash on Interstate 84.

The crash happened at 3:50 a.m. near milepost 69, between Boise and Mountain Home.

According to Idaho State Police, a full-size SUV was headed west when it went off the left side of the road. The driver, identified as 69-year-old James C. Hunt, steered the vehicle back onto the roadway, but lost control, rolling the vehicle.

Hunt was thrown from the SUV, and died at the scene.

The westbound interstate was blocked for four hours, with traffic diverted around the wreck. All lanes have since reopened.
